System context

This work focused on a mobile advertising SDK and mediation platform operating at meaningful scale, with roughly 300K daily active users and more than 300 million requests per month.

As the platform expanded, monetization performance, integration complexity, and platform coverage became tightly connected. Improving one area without restructuring the others was no longer enough.

Where complexity started to hurt

The core challenge was not just monetization efficiency. The platform had to evolve under growing technical pressure: limited ad network integrations, no real bidding layer, inefficient monetization logic, and architecture that was becoming harder to extend.

At the same time, the business needed broader demand access, stronger performance, and expansion beyond mobile into CTV environments.

What changed

The work centered on restructuring the monetization stack so the system could operate more predictably under scale. This included introducing RTB and in-app bidding, redesigning mediation logic, expanding network integrations, and improving bid handling through multi-call optimization.

In parallel, the SDK architecture was refactored to support cleaner system behavior and broader platform support, including the extension of monetization capabilities into CTV.
